It’s that time of year again! Winter seems to have us in its sites for this weekend.
The good news is that the weather should wait until after the Stokesdale Christmas Parade this Saturday.
The bad news is that Sunday may look like a blizzard. With that in mind, here is a reminder of the CCC weather policy:
We meet on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. for our Worship Celebrations regardless of weather. If you can make it, we’ll be there to worship together. Of course, we don’t encourage anyone to venture out in unsafe conditions. So, be careful! Our other activities, such as Youth Group and Small Groups may be cancelled due to weather. But, Sunday worship is always on!
We are gearing up for the Stokesdale Christmas Parade! This year local churches are working together to enhance the festive atmosphere of the day. While waiting for the Parade step off at 2 p.m., families can enjoy free food, crafts for kids, face painting, hot apple cider, a prayer tent, and holiday cheer at the Stokesdale Fire Station. Festivities will begin at noon.
We also plan a ministry venue near Stokesdale United Methodist Church.
Plan to celebrate with your neighbors at the Stokesdale Christmas Parade!
Also, let’s keep an eye on the weather and pray for clear skies…
This year Crossroads served as a drop off location for OCC boxes. In addition to the 202 boxes packed by Crossroads,
we received 104 from the community. These boxes will be shared with children all around the world through this ministry of Samaritan’s Purse.
We had a fun time packing the boxes at our OCC packing party on November 9. Through the year our Crossroads folks collected items for our gift boxes–socks, toys, pencils, coloring books, crayons, erasers, shoes, stuffed animals. Then we had a great time of celebration and prayer as we carefully packed each box with a specific, but unknown, child in mind. Our prayer is that each box will find its way to just the right kid!
